About Us

The Chocolate Libertine was founded in 2008 and is the passion of Julie Devonald.

Formally, a student of textile design, Julie was trained under master chocolatier Gerard Ronay. There followed five years with quality London based chocolate house, Rococo Chocolates, under the maverick entrepreneurs Chantal Coady and James Booth.

The Libertine production kitchen is based in South Buckinghamshire and is family run.

All our products are handmade with the emphasis on quality and with an eye for detail. We use a range of fine chocolate couvertures and ingredients, to produce beautiful niche items for both large and small customers. Each receiving the same exacting standards – from large runs of foiled Easter eggs to one off hand painted love hearts.
